what the problem was.
seven products, each needing identity, billing, scheduling and a cms. at four saas subscriptions per product that's twenty-eight recurring bills, twenty-eight dashboards and twenty-eight vendors with an opinion about your roadmap — before a single one of the products has a customer. for a one-person studio that isn't expensive, it's structurally impossible.
the alternative most people take is to run each product on whatever was cheapest that week, and end up with seven products that share a logo and nothing else.

what I decided.
build the layer once, and make every product a tenant of it.
devsforfun id handles identity, oauth and billing, and issues supabase-compatible jwts so row-level security works the same way in every app. inkform is a github-native cms for blogs, changelogs and docs, with an open-source next.js framework underneath it. clndr.pro handles calendars and scheduling and publishes an sdk. three pieces, one account model, seven products on top.
the studio site itself was designed and built against that layer rather than beside it — next.js and tailwind, built with claude code, designed in claude design against the studio's own design system rather than a component kit.

why it was hard.
this one you can check without taking my word for it.
the checkout on pixelform.design runs on devsforfun id. the booking page runs on the clndr.pro api. not a screenshot of infrastructure — the infrastructure, carrying the thing you are currently reading and the transaction you'd make if you bought an audit.
that is the difference between this entry and the two beside it. offseason and tacit are concept builds: real code, real backends, no users but me. this one has uptime, error budgets, payment reconciliation and people who notice when it breaks. a studio that builds its own identity and billing layer is making a different claim than a studio with a nice portfolio, and it's a claim that can be verified in about thirty seconds.
what it produced.
operated by devsforfun studio (opc) private limited. the open-source pieces are on github; the rest is running in production, which is a less impressive sentence than most portfolio copy and a more useful one.
